Bio
I grew up in the foothills of Colorado with the dream of being an Olympic figure skater. If you are wondering how I got from Olympic figure skater to Family Law Attorney, the secret to my success is simple—an amazing support system. I have not one, but two Moms who have helped propel me toward my goals by working tirelessly to support me in chasing my dreams. After ten years of competitive figure skating, I faced a big decision about my future: would I choose to reach for the Olympic gold or attend college? Ultimately, with the support of my Moms, I chose to transition from the life of a competitive athlete to the life of a full-time student.
As soon as I decided which path to follow, the puzzle pieces of my life began falling into place. From the moment I stepped foot on campus at the University of Colorado at Boulder, I knew it was where I belonged. I fell in love with the campus and the people on day one and, three and a half years later, graduated with a double major in International Affairs and Political Science. The next pivotal moment in my life arrived in the form of a conversation with a close family friend who spent her career as a corporate attorney in New York. I realized then and there that law school would be my next big challenge. Little did I know, the skills I gained during my tenure as a competitive figure skater would pay off both in law school and in my career. Being an attorney requires the same relentless determination, grit, and stamina that was instilled in me as a competitive athlete. In addition to participating in various extracurriculars while in law school, I also served as an Admissions Ambassador and an editorial board member of Law Review.
In hindsight, the journey from competitive figure skater to Family Law Attorney is not all that surprising. In fact, my first encounter with family law occurred when my Moms adopted me from China at 2 years old. Although adoption agencies typically handle everything, my Moms went the extra mile and enlisted the help of an attorney to guide them through the process and ensure all the legal documents were in order. More than anyone, I understand firsthand that “family” often looks a little different for everyone. For me, my family includes my Moms, our two dogs, and our two cats. For you, your family might include multiple families – with step-siblings, step-parents, and even the occasional step-pet as well! Whatever your family may look like, and no matter what your family is facing, I will fight alongside you, advocate for you, and tirelessly support you in the pursuit of your goals, both in court and out. If there is one thing I learned from my Moms, it is this—with the right support system in place, anything is possible. Let me be that support system for you and your family so that you can focus on your next dream.
Outside of work, you will find me enjoying art projects, exploring the outdoors, learning new recipes from cooking shows, and arranging flowers!
