Bio
In my view, an estate planning attorney should have “all the gears.” What that means for you is that as your estate planning attorney I am committed to drafting precise, technically sound documents, anticipating and planning for potential disputes, and, when necessary, addressing issues that arise in probate or trust administration. Estate planning is not simply filling in blanks on a form—it is designing a plan tailored to your family, your assets, and your long-term goals. There is no one-size-fits-all approach and every plan should reflect the specific values and priorities of the person creating it.
Planning for the difficult moments ahead is not always an easy conversation. It requires you to consider difficult “what if” questions and to think carefully about the people you love most. It may also involve complicated family dynamics, business interests, or deeply personal decisions about how you want to be remembered and how you want your affairs handled, all with the goal of bringing clarity and peace of mind.
I believe estate planning is ultimately about stewardship. It is about taking responsibility for what you have built and ensuring that it continues to serve the people and purposes you care about. I was drawn to estate planning because it allows individuals to thoughtfully shape the legacy they leave behind—not in a grand or abstract sense, but in practical, meaningful ways. A well-designed estate plan gives you a voice in moments when you otherwise would not have one. It provides clarity where there could be confusion, and direction where there could be conflict.
Outside the office, I enjoy spending time outdoors, creating Lego masterpieces, and reading military history. The relationships that I have fostered ground me and serve as a constant reminder of the importance of the goals of estate planning: to protect the people and relationships that matter the most to you.
Growing up in Charlotte and now practicing here as an Attorney in Sodoma Law’s Charlotte office, I have the privilege of serving families in the same community that shaped me. My time at Campbell University School of Law was marked not only by academic achievement—graduating magna cum laude and in the top 5% of my class—but also by meaningful leadership and mentorship. Serving as Chief Articles Editor of the Campbell Law Review sharpened my attention to detail and strengthened my ability to analyze complex legal issues with precision. I was honored to receive the highest academic distinctions in numerous classes, including Constitutional Law II, Criminal Procedure, and Wills & Trusts.
Before law school, my studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill were equally formative. As a member of Honors Carolina, I studied Biology, Chemistry and History–a unique combination of disciplines that taught me to think analytically while also appreciating the broader human story behind every issue. Serving on the Honor Court and participating in Student Government reinforced my values of integrity, accountability, and service—principles that continue to guide not only the way I counsel clients, but also the way I live.
When working with me, you can expect empathy for whatever circumstances bring you into my office. Families are complex. Relationships are nuanced. Sometimes conversations about planning reveal tensions or uncertainties that have existed for years. I approach those realities with respect and discretion while also providing steady, rational guidance. Estate planning decisions should be made deliberately and strategically, not reactively or emotionally. My job is to help you think through your options clearly, understand the legal tools available to you, and help you move forward with confidence.
If you are ready to put a plan in place—or to revisit one that no longer reflects your wishes—then I am ready to help. Together, we will create something that provides clarity, protection, and peace of mind for your future.
